Liion Jaw or Westie Jaw
yes, just came back from the vet. My 4 month old yorkie cries in pain when you touch his mouth or sometimes even his head or face. He yawned and was crying for at least a full minute. Vet said it is “lion Jaw” common in Westies but yorkkies can have it too. It’s genetic. My puppy is on liguid Non steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine. He may need steroid shots for the next 6 months to a year when the condition finally resolves itself. The medical name for the condition is “Osteomandibular Osteopathy”.
