Hi, I have an 11 1/2 yr old Yorkie who is pretty healthy with the exception of some digestive issues for which we have him on prescription food.
Everyday around 5:00 this dog starts bugging us as he knows it is ‘supper time’.
We leave dry food out all day but at ‘supper time’ he gets some wet food with his meds mixed in.
He goes crazy, jumping and barking, while we are preparing his ‘supper’. Tonight nothing, he didn’t even eat any of his food.
From the day we brought him home he has always been excited at ‘supper time’ so this is very concerning.
He is drinking and playing like normal but will not eat.
Not sure how concerned I should be.
Bridgett's Mommy says
No appetite?
My yorkie Bridgett gets that way sometimes. When she won’t eat her food, we will put just a tiny bit of shredded cheese mixed in it. That way she will think it’s something different and eat most of it.
She does the same thing around dinner time. At 5:45 p.m., everyday she will sit up and look at us. If we ignore her, she will start barking. It’s like she has her own little alarm clock! She will do that at 10 p.m. too because she knows it is time to go to bed! She is my best little friend…
